Story

The thought
before the object.

Held Ground begins with contrast rather than ornament. A single plane of burgundy velvet establishes the upper silhouette; the black tulle below expands, fragments and finally meets the dark rock beneath it.

The asymmetry is deliberate. One shoulder remains exposed while the velvet crosses the body and continues into a narrow train, drawing a precise diagonal through the volume of the skirt.

Creative concept

Every line
must account for itself.

The visual language depends on material behaviour: velvet absorbs light and creates authority; transparent tulle releases the silhouette and allows the surrounding air to enter the garment.

The look is conceived as direction for further couture development. Internal structure, weight distribution, drape engineering and final construction would be resolved with the appointed fashion designer, pattern cutter and atelier.

Available as a visual direction for a defined fashion brief. Technical pattern, construction and atelier development are not included in the present study.
