The question

What the project
needed to resolve.

The Lower Register takes a familiar garment and removes its casual assumptions. The waist is controlled, the hip stays clean and the leg follows a long architectural line before opening into a measured flare.

Leather enters only at the lower leg. Tonal nappa changes the weight, movement and light of the silhouette without turning the idea into decoration.

Creative direction

The direction
and its logic.

The central decision is continuity. A crisp front crease travels through the denim and is visually carried into the leather panel. The seam belongs to the proportion of the garment.

The image direction places denim in a more formal context: precise, capable and suited to a client who expects construction to carry the distinction.

The decision

The route chosen.
And the one declined.

The obvious route
Use leather as a decorative trim or contrasting statement panel added to a familiar five-pocket jean.
The alternative
Treat the leather as a precise continuation of the lower leg, carrying the garment’s pressed line into a different material.
Why this direction
The tonal lower extension was chosen because it changes weight, movement and form while keeping the denim disciplined and recognisable. Distinction comes from construction, not applied decoration.

Intended application

A signature look for a focused denim capsule, an early collection proposal or campaign direction.

Development path

Pattern, leather engineering, grading, wear testing and production would be resolved with appointed denim and leather specialists. AURÉ can work with an existing team or help identify the expertise required.
